MANILA – The Cagayan De Oro-based 4th Infantry Division has gotten more mobile and capable after receiving 43 troop carrier trucks and ten ambulances Tuesday.
“This is part of the modernization program and the continuing mobility enhancement program of the Army and is a product of a government-to-government procurement between the Republic of the Philippines and South Korea,” 4th Infantry Division public affairs office chief Capt. Joe Patrick Martinez said.
The Philippine Army received a total of 43 KM450 1 ¼ Ton Troop Carrier Trucks and Ten KM 451.
The vehicles suit the mobility requirements the 4th Infantry Division as these can withstand the terrain and weather in northern Mindanao and CARAGA regions, where troops are being deployed in the hinterlands and mountainous area for the “Bayanihan” team activities and rescue and relief operations, he said.
