Ph Vietnam to Sign Cooperation Pact

The strategic partnership agreement between Philippine and Vietnam would likely be signed on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation’s Leaders Meeting in Manila on November 18 and 19 this year. Vietnam Ambassador to the Philippines Truong Trie Duong is negotiating already for the partnership were over and started finalizing the draft of the agreement.

The Philippines and Vietnam, both claimants of the disputed South China Sea, are close forging a strategic partnership that might cause China to be concerned. The agreement will intensify the cooperation in order to resolve the issue concerning the South China Sea in a most peaceful way and in accordance with international law.

The draft will be more comprehensive for the partnership and will be fruitful in every aspect of relations between the two countries, separately from political and economic cooperation and it would scale up the military alliance as well. Vietnam is far stronger than the Philippines in terms of military strength.
